This class is designed for our more senior clients, who want to maintain or improve balance, strength and functional movement. Having good physical balance means we stay in greater control of our movements and this is vital in preventing falls and injury.
Let's face it, we are all getting older! Regular movement keeps you strong and mobile, will improve your bone health and balance and help you to feel more energised and co-ordinated. These classes are taught by physiotherapists, who pay particular attention to the specific control requirements of basic movement patterns to ensure safe, individualised exercise to improve function and prevent injury.
You will practice functional exercises that are based around Clinical Pilates concepts of core recruitment. Each week will incorporate a different piece of small equipment like theraband or hand weights to further challenge your coordination and strength. These classes are non-competitive and a whole lot of fun and will no doubt improve your overall well being.
